Hidden Gardens of Hadleigh 2017

Hidden Gardens & More

As well as around 25 gardens you can visit, Hadleigh has a lively High Street with a range of interesting local shops (for some of these, see our Sponsors page.) Most of these are in Grade 2 listed buildings, some with fine examples of East Anglian pargetting. St Mary's Church reflects the success of Hadleigh's mediaeval wool trade, and the timber-framed Guildhall nearby is Grade 1 listed, and will also be open for visits on the day. So there is much to see and do as well as visit the gardens.

The gardens themselves comprise a wide range of sizes and styles. There are hidden gardens behind historic buildings, larger gardens leading down to the river Brett, and more recent gardens among the houses that have grown up around the historic town centre. Some gardens are mature and well-established, others have been more recently laid out. And there are several gardens which are new in the programme this year.
